The Adirondack Mountain Club – Glens Falls-Saratoga Chapter is a regular presenter at the NatureFest.
Mission Statement
The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) is dedicated to the conservation, preservation, and responsible recreational use of the New York State Forest Preserve and other parks, wild lands, and waters vital to our members and chapters.
The Adirondack Mountain Club’s 28,000 members enjoy hiking, canoeing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, camping, backpacking, biking, mountaineering, snowshoeing, and other “muscle-powered” outdoor activities. And they’re committed to protecting the places they play in, volunteering countless hours to advance ADK’s mission of protecting natural resources and promoting responsible recreation.
The Glens Falls / Saratoga Chapter
When you join the Adirondack Mountain Club, you may choose to “affiliate” with the Glens Falls-Saratoga Chapter. The Glens Falls-Saratoga Chapter has a membership of over 3,000, making it the second largest ADK chapter – and it’s growing fast!
Many members reside in Saratoga, Warren or Washington Counties of New York State, but we also have a growing number of members from across the northeastern states. The chapter offers something for everyone. Activities include hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, kayaking, social events, interesting programs, etc. You do not have to be an athlete or drive long distances to enjoy many of our outings.
Hikes range from short, easy walks to more challenging climbs in the High Peaks. Many activities are local and do not require a long drive. Hikes and Kayaking are listed in the Outings Calendar which is found in the Calendar link on our home page.
As a chapter member, you will also receive the bi-monthly Chepontuc Footnotes Newsletter that will list events, items of interest and programs scheduled at the Glens Falls and Saratoga libraries. These items will also be listed on our home page.
