Welcome to the Friends of Moreau Lake State Park VIRTUAL NatureFest. This site was originally built in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was an extremely challenging and downright scary 2 years for families across our region. Businesses suffered, some went out of business and many if not all special events were cancelled, ours included.

2020 would have been our 23rd Annual NatureFest and to maintain our connection to the community and momentum of NatureFest, we launched this website to connect you to some of the exhibitors who in the past have provided a wealth of information, both educational and entertaining.

For several years now, NatureFest has been held the second weekend in September. In 2019 we had over 55 exhibitors with more than 2,000 visitors attending the event. We sold 800 hotdogs, engaged 30+ volunteers who contributed over 400 hours of service to make sure everyone had a fun filled and memorable experience.

Why?

Our Mission

To partner with Moreau Lake State Park to enrich the experience for every park visitor through environmental education, events and stewardship.

We are a 100% volunteer organization made up of community citizens who value and cherish the more than 6,200 acres of wild land in our backyard and want to ensure it remains healthy and intact for future generations to come.

We have many people to thank for their hard work in helping to put this together. Much of the content was created by volunteers who just wanted to share their experiences and knowledge about the park in an effort to inspire others. We hope you’ll agree.

We’re excited you stopped by, so please sign the Guestbook, check out the videos, games, and links, and let us know what you think! We are hopeful in being able to host our in-person event for 2022 – if all goes well.

Thank you for your visit, be safe and enjoy!
